About Peterson Investigative Solutions
Jerry Peterson is a retired law enforcement officer, spending his entire twenty-one-year career with the Phoenix Police Department and retiring in 2015. Throughout his career in law enforcement, as an officer Jerry had assignments in patrol, the gang unit, the School Resource Officer (SRO) program, as well as several temporary assignments in other details. During his tenure as a Sergeant, Jerry held positions as a patrol squad supervisor, and an investigator in the Professional Standards Bureau (Internal Affairs). Jerry also served in the Community Action Bureau, collaborating with the Mayor, City Council, and other departments to resolve neighborhood complaints and on-duty patrol issues that required additional resources beyond immediate resolution.
During his career, Jerry was also an association representative for the Phoenix Law Enforcement Association (PLEA) and as a Sergeant, was a representative of the Phoenix Police Sergeant and Lieutenant’s Association (PPSLA). As a representative of both organizations, Jerry represented employees during the internal investigation process, and as a representative of PLEA, he worked on the development of two officer Memorandum of Understandings (MOU), which was the two-year contract between officer level employees, management and the city of Phoenix. The contract included hourly pay raises and scales, paid time off and other benefits. As a supervisor, Jerry was an instructor in the probationary supervisor program, where he taught classes on employee contracts and internal investigations. Jerry was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP).
Jerry earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix in 2003. While with the Phoenix Police Department, he became certified as a detective, a defensive tactics instructor, and a general instructor (Rio Salado Community College).
Jerry was a certified real estate agent in Arizona (2012-2016) and completed the Certified Public Manager’s (CPM) program through Arizona State University (2012). After Jerry retired, he went to work for American Express as a Fraud Investigator, investigating Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and fraud cases. Besides the law enforcement and corporate investigative industries, Jerry has experience in the areas of construction/Project management, retail, manufacturing, and hospitality/maintenance.
